a) From Ames, drive east on 13th Street
until you reach the stop light on Dayton Avenue. Turn left
(north) on Dayton Avenue and drive north until you find
a T-intersection at 180th Street. Turn right (east) and
drive a little less than a mile. On your left (north side
of the road) is the Story
County Conservation Center at McFarland Park. The observatory
is just a little farther east.
b) From Highway 69, turn east on Riverside
Road to Dayton Avenue. Turn left on Dayton Avenue and
drive north until you find a T-intersection at 180th
Street. Turn right (east) and drive a little less than
a mile. On your left (north side of the road) is the Story
County Conservation Center at McFarland Park. The
observatory is just a little further east.
c) From I-35, take Exit 116 and go west
on 190th Street until you reach a T-intersection at Dayton
Avenue. Turn right (north) on Dayton Avenue and drive
north until you find a T-intersection at 180th Street.
Turn right (east) and drive a little less than a mile.

observatory is just a little further east.
