Allen caught this -6 mag. Iridium Satellite Flare Saturday, October 18, 2003 near the Ashton Observatory, north of Des Moines, Iowa at 7:58 PM CDT. This flare was seen near the North Star. Allen captured this shot using FUJI-Superia X-TRA 400 film, a 50 mm lens at f/1.4 opened for the duration of the flare, and a Minolta XE-7 camera mounted on a tripod. |
